With the founding of the diversity network Diplomats of Color, Sio is a major driving force behind the anti-racism discourse in the German Foreign Service. Diplomats of Color currently has 150 members - as well as supporters such as the former CHRO of Siemens, Janina Kugel, or the German politician Aminata Touré. In 2019, Sio also headed the legal and consular section of the German Embassy in Senegal for two months and was able to secure the acquittal of two unjustly imprisoned persons. For Sio, the greatest achievement is to see that her own actions make a difference in society.
