PhD Candidate at
Eindhoven University of Technology, Forbes 30 Under 30
Currently a PhD Candidate at Eindhoven University of Technology in the field of Governance and Ethics of Artificial Intelligence as well as a Coordinator of the High-Level Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence, Charlotte Stix got her career start somewhere else entirely. “I am actually a philosopher“ says the Austrian, who made it onto the Forbes Under 30 list for the DACH region in 2019. Early on, she specialised in ethics, but realised during her master’s degree at London School of Economics what she was truly interested in. “I dealt with ethical consequences by researching transhumanism and the implications of brain-machine interfaces. That's how I got into AI (Artificial Intelligence)." Stix sees a strong need for intelligent and dynamic regulation of AI.
