“What is leadership? To motivate people, to help them achieve a goal.” It’s clear that once you start speaking about leadership, Janina Kugel knows what she’s talking about. As Chief Human Resources Officer of German industry giant Siemens, Kugel is responsible for 379,000 employees worldwide. She knows that in the future, executives will need one thing above all: flexibility. “Leaders must be able to take on different roles. They have to be able to switch between being the boss, an influencer or Chief Engagement Officer. This agility not to be ‘either – or’, but ‘both’ is completely new to many people.“
On her Twitter bio (Kugel has more than 14,000 followers), she describes herself as follows: “Passion for leadership, diversity and inclusion, education and society. Woman and mother. All views are my own.” At the Forbes Women’s Summit, Kugel will share her views on leadership and D&I with our audience.
