Monique Dekker, Area Vice President Austria at Park Hyatt Vienna, got her start in the hotel industry early on. The Dutch executive graduated from the Hotel School “The Hague” and started her career at St. Regis Hotel in New York. After jobs in Singapore and Germany she finally came to Austria, where she worked as a general manager of the Park Hyatt Vienna, before becoming Area Vice President Austria with the launch of Hyatt’s second hotel in Vienna, Andaz.

Dekker’s priority is a more equal work environment for women. As chairwoman of the initiative “Women@Hyatt” for the EMEA region, she’s aware that there “is still a lot of work ahead of us” and advises that “women needs to stick together” to reach their goals.
